About the Editor
Hello, I’m Becky and I’m the Editor of Simply Cards & Papercraft and Managing Editor of the Papercraft Magazines portfolio at Practical Publishing. I’ve worked for Practical Publishing for over 7 and a half years and have loved every second! From the early days working as a Sub-Editor to now, as the Managing Editor, it’s been a rollercoaster – my first editing role was on Complete Cardmaking – Britain’s best digital cardmaking magazine – and since then I’ve edited Creative Stamping, Papercraft Essentials and launched Die-cutting Essentials, before happily moving over to Practical’s flagship title and Britain’s No.1 cardmaking magazine, Simply Cards & Papercraft focusing on bringing you the best and most on-trend gifts with your magazine with every issue.
I come from a journalistic background, having studied for both my BA Hons in Journalism and MA in Magazine Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. Since then, my time spent working on our bestselling portfolio of magazines has led to me being surrounded by amazing papercraft products, blogs and personalities for at least eight hours a day, which in turn has helped build my love of cardmaking.
The main thing I love about cardmaking is the strong sense of community the crafting world has to offer. Being the Editor of a craft magazine helps you experience this first hand and I relish it.
I love receiving emails and letters from readers sending me pictures of their makes, designs and inspiration, brilliantly showcasing just how our magazines help build upon this community, and I hope this never changes!
Since launching our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages, we’ve made it even easier than before for you to get in touch, and I’m so happy about this – so check out the Contact Us page to find out how to get in touch.
Happy cardmaking
Becky x
MEET THE DESIGN TEAM

As one of our Papercraft Magazines Designer of the Year 2017 winners, Sarah has been crafting for over 12 years – she also enjoys cross stitch and tapestry, but admits she doesn't often have the patience required for those hobbies. In the run up to our annual competition Sarah had dabbled with art journaling and mixed media as a way of experimenting with techniques and textures. Since making her debut in issue 175, Sarah has gone on to create stunning cards to be featured in many issues of SCP and our sister titles.

Sandy has been making cards on and off for 14 years – her husband bought her a stamping kit and heat tool for Christmas , not realising what he'd unleash! Her go-to products are are stamps and dies due to their versatility and the effects you can achieve depending on the techniques and materials you use. Speaking about her PMDY 2017 win, Sandy says: "Like most crafters, I love making cards but have no confidence in my own creations. A friend encouraged me to enter and I am over the moon to have won."

Trudie was super excited to be announced as a PMDY winner in 2017, and has since completed several features in SCP and our sister titles, including a stunning selection of cards in issue 178. Trudie loves her Copic markers and colouring is by far her favourite technique, and her background in design means she's always doodling – so look out for her colouring features in the future! Her ambition for the future would be to design her own stamps, papers and dies – she'd love to see what other people would do with her ideas.
