HOW TO: create a bubble background using AquaTint pens

1 Take a piece of Sheena stamping card, and add drops of colour, using a water spritz, spray at the colour in different directions, pat and leave to dry.

2 Stamp your sentiment using VersaMark onto black cardstock and heat-emboss with white embossing powder – set aside for now.

3 Take a small container, and add droplets of colour direct from your aquatint pen into the container. Add a small amount of washing up liquid and some water and stir thoroughly

4 Gently blow through a straw until the bubbles rise, take a piece of watercolour cardstock and lightly press into the bubbles, you will need to repeat this several times.

5 Keep going until you have filled the piece of cardstock. Then make another mixture using a contrasting colour.

6 Using the piece of cardstock you spritzed in Step 1, stamp your image onto it and cut an area out, then stamp the image fully onto the bubble background card and paper-piece.

7 Assemble the card together, using the backgrounds as the main elements, finish with a little pearl to the flower.

Safety first
Ensure you do blow through the straw – you do not want to drink this mixture!

Top tip
This can be messy – make sure you have covered your clothes and surround area, as the bubbles will pop and leave colour behind
