How to create dimension and texture with a stencil and glitter paste

13th September 2018

Learn how to create dimension and texture with a stencil!

We’re using the Winter Wonderland stencil that comes free with Issue 182 of Simply Cards & Papercraft to show you how you can add texture and dimension by masking stencils and using glitter paste.

Step 1 using the stencil

1 Mask off the snowflakes on the stencil using tape. Secure the stencil on top of the white cardstock and lightly sponge blue ink using a downward flicking motion to create hills.

Step 2 using the stencil

2 Lightly mist water onto the panel to create a more distressed effect. Add a very light layer of ink to the rest of the background to create the sky/background.

Step 3 using the stencil

3 Replace the stencil back onto the panel and following the stencilled hill, apply glitter paste to the background and onto the hills for extra festive sparkle.

As you can see from the finished result, the glitter paste looks amazing as snowflakes!
