We show you from start to finish how to create a simple z-fold card, we’ve used the gorgeous bauble opulence die set which comes free with issue 183 to make ours.
The die set we’re using is from the fabulous Phil Martin, 3 different shaped baubles which are ideal for all kinds of craft projects this Christmas. You could use this fold technique with any set of dies, once you’ve mastered how to make a z-fold card you’ll find you turn to them again and again. they’re very stable cards and because of the z-fold you get additional dimension and interest to the card.
Adding a belly band to your card will make it extra special as once removed the card will pop out ready to be displayed. This kind of card would also work well teamed with a cardbox.
Materials and Dimensions
-A4 sized piece of cardstock trimmed to 5-1/2 inches (A4 size length or 11.69inches)
-Score at 3 inches and 6 inches.
-2 mats sized to 2-3/4 inches x 5 inches
-1 sized to 5-1/4 inches x 5 inches
Belly Band (save the excess from the card base):
-1 strip trimmed to 1-1/4 inches (A4 size length or 11.69inches) and scored at 3 inches and 8-7/8inches
-Belly Band mat is a strip of glitter card trimmed 3/4inch (A4 size length or 11.69inches)
